Sustainable Forestry

Each of our natural solid wood pieces are sourced from Sustainable Forestry Initiative Certified Mills (SFI) located in the Pacific Northwest. We’re grateful to have strong relationships with these well-established, family-owned mills and are fortunate enough to get a close-up look at how responsibly they plant, grow, and harvest.

Environmental Initiatives

At Whidbey Millhouse, we ensure that any excess wood or shavings are donated or sold for further use, taking care to use 100% of the wood pieces that come through our doors. Our bags of sawdust shavings are a hit at local dog parks, and they also provide bedding for chickens or pets. Scrap wood is donated to low-income Whidbey Island residents in need of heat resources in winter.
